Colville Community Dental Clinic Expands

Receives generous grant from Washington Dental Service Foundation

N.E. Washington Health Programs has been awarded a 2014 grant for $377,888 by Washington Dental Service Foundation (WDSF). The grant supports remodeling and expansion of the Colville Community Dental Clinic, which is expanding from 3,750 feet to 5,250 square feet. Treatment rooms will increase from nine to twelve. Work flow will be significantly redesigned with new check-in and waiting areas. Handicapped and pediatric patients will be better accommodated. The grant will support an additional 5,130 patient visits annually. It allows for more rapid scheduling of patients, accommodates an increased demand for services, and facilitates new patients due to the reinstatement of Medicaid adult dental coverage.

“We greatly appreciate Washington Dental Service Foundation’s (WDSF) generous support of this much needed expansion project, which enables us to better serve our local community,” said Desiree Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer for NEWHP. “Colville, which was the first of our three dental sites, opened in 1997. We simply outgrew the current space. Through WDSF’s strong support of our mission, we continue to provide services to insured, uninsured and self-pay patients. Payment plans are offered.”

“Our Foundation is pleased to fund this project which will allow more people in the Colville area to receive dental care. We were very impressed with the commitment and quality of care demonstrated by the clinic," said Diana Gale, Washington Dental Service Foundation board member. “Oral disease is painful, affects a person’s ability to get a job and is linked to other serious health issues. Providing access to preventive dental care and early treatment improves overall health and reduces costs.”

A community reception/open house for the “new” Colville Community Dental Clinic will be announced later this year. To contact the clinic, please call (509) 684-1440 or (800) 948-3049.
